Community Outreach

As part of our organization’s mission, Lincoln Park Boat Club engages in community outreach to share the joys, benefits, and challenges of a variety of water sports: rowing, kayaking, canoeing, and stand-up paddle boarding. Our goal is inclusion: we are privileged to offer the Chicago Community the opportunity to learn and train as part of the Lincoln Park Boat Club.

Financial Aid for Rowing & Paddling

Financial Aid is available for Middle School and High School Teams, and Annual Memberships, classes, and teams. You can apply for need-based financial aid here.

Youth Rowing

Lincoln Park Boat Club Middle School & High School Teams are designed for novice and competitive rowers. These programs emphasize physiological development and training for injury-free competitive success. The athlete’s focus in these programs are competition and preparation for a lifetime of rowing. Each year, Lincoln Park Boat Club enables youth to participate in this sport by awarding 100% of demonstrated financial need for team dues and travel.

Lathrop Youth Rowing
This year-round program is completely free to Lathrop residents between the ages of 11 and 17. Athletes train for and compete at the same events that LPBC’s other high school and middle school squads compete.

Community Programming

Lincoln Park Boat Club partners with the Chicago Park District to open our doors for new rowers and paddlers. Ongoing Partnerships and Outreach Events include:

Community Rowing at Park 571 - Among our most popular practices each week, the Community Rowing program at Park 571 offers adults a low-cost option to learn to row and continue training as a team. Athletes train on the water throughout the year from April - October, and indoor training is offered throughout the winter months. These sessions are coached alongside Park 571 Partners St. Ignatius and the University of Chicago Crew.

Veteran’s Rowing - An annual partnership the with Chicago Park District Veterans Program to offer indoor rowing clinics, with an emphasis on training for the annual Valor Games.

National Learn To Row Day - Every year on National Learn To Row Day, the first Saturday in June. We provide free rowing lessons to hundreds of youth and adults. Check our social media pages to view updates or sign up for the upcoming National Learn to Row Day.

Chicago Park District Youth Camps - Lincoln Park Boat Club opens its doors every year for Chicago Park District day camps to introduce their participants to water sports. Each year we are able to introduce more youth to our community via these partnerships.

You can donate to support our outreach and financial aid efforts. Thank you for your support of LPBC and our surrounding community!
