Lycée Français de Chicago Rowing

Welcome Lycée Students & Parents!

The Lycée Français de Chicago Rowing Program was established through a partnership with the Lincoln Park Boat Club (LPBC) to bring the sport of rowing to the Lycée community. Operating out of the Lathrop Boathouse—where our student-athletes train on the Chicago River—this program offers a unique opportunity for students to try a new sport (no experience required!), build life-long friendships, and learn the values of hard work and teamwork in a historic club setting.

2026 Spring Learn-To-Row Camps

For students new to the sport, our Spring Learn-to-Row camps at the Lathrop Boathouse are designed to teach the fundamentals of the rowing stroke and water safety. Each new athlete is eligible for one FREE Spring Learn-to-Row camp which take place Monday through Friday from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Lathrop Boathouse (2820 N Leavitt St). Join us for one of our upcoming sessions:

  • Session 1: March 9 – March 13

  • Session 2: March 23 – March 27

  • Session 3: April 6 – April 10

  • Session 4: April 20 – April 24

2026 Spring Season

Following the completion of a Learn-to-Row camp, students have the option to join Lycée Rowing for the 2026 Spring Season. Practices will run Monday through Friday from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Lathrop Boathouse (2820 N Leavitt St).

Spring Regatta Schedule

  • April 19: Illinois Junior Invitational (Clinton Lake, IL)

  • May 2–3: Indianapolis Junior Sprints (Indianapolis, IN)

  • May 16–17: Midwest Junior Championships (Bethel, OH)

  • June 11–14: USRowing Youth Nationals* (Sarasota, FL) *For qualifying crews.

  • (Optional) July 10-12: Chicago Sprints (Chicago, IL)

Registration

If you are ready to register for the Spring Learn-to-Row Camp, follow the directions below.

  1. Click the following link to open a new tab and create a RegattaCentral account

  2. Once your account is created, click on the “High School Rowing - Lathrop” button below to expand the menu

  3. Add “High School Rowing - Lathrop - Learn to Row Camp” to the cart and select “Checkout”

  4. Select the week for attending and complete the registration form
