Para Rowing

Lincoln Park Boat Club’s Para Rowing Team welcomes athletes with disabilities to experience rowing, develop their skills, and become part of our rowing community.

No previous rowing experience is required. We recognize that every athlete is different, so our coaches will work with you to understand your goals, abilities, and support needs. Together, we’ll adapt the rowing experience so you can participate safely, confidently, and successfully.

Depending on the athlete, participation may include adapted equipment, individualized coaching, additional support entering or exiting the boat, or adjustments to the rowing motion.

Our goal is to help every athlete:

  • Learn proper rowing technique

  • Build strength, endurance, and confidence

  • Experience the teamwork and community of rowing

  • Progress at a pace appropriate for their goals

Our program is open to individuals with a wide range of disabilities and impairments, including:

  • Impaired muscle power

  • Impaired passive range of movement

  • Limb deficiency

  • Leg-length difference

  • Short stature

  • Hypertonia

  • Ataxia

  • Athetosis

  • Vision impairment
